Monday , 17 May - World Hypertension Day 2021 Since 2005, World Hypertension Day is officially celebrated around the world on the 17th Date of May at the initiative of the World Health Organization in close cooperation with the World League Against Hypertension and the International Society of Hypertension. The purpose of the Day is to bring information to the general public about the danger of this disease and the severity of its medical complications, as well as to increase knowledge about methods of prevention and early diagnosis. Hypertension is a chronic disease related to diseases of the circulatory system and is accompanied by a persistent increase in blood pressure above the permissible limits (systolic pressure above 140 mm Hg and diastolic pressure above 90 mm Hg).
